About Hot Stamping Temperature Controllers
Fuse(s) and Circuit Breakers

Fuses and Circuit Breakers have the following ratings:
1.Maximum Voltage
2.Maximum Current

How to test Fuses or Circuit Breakers

1.Use an Ohm Meter
1.Check for Fuse or Circuit breaker continuity.
The Resistance of a good fuse should be Zero.
2.Use a Volt Meter
1.With the power on check the voltage accross the fuse or circuit breaker.
The Voltage accross  a good fuse should be Zero.
3.Calculate Fuse Size.
1.Formula for Heater Head P (Watts) ÷ V (Voltage) = I
I X 1.5= Recommended Fuse Size.
Typical Machine Voltages:
1.120vac.
2.220vac.
3.440vac.
Heater Head Power:
1.2"X4" Heater Head 120vac 1 350 Watt Heater.Total Power of 350 Watts
(350) ÷ 120) = 2.92 X 1.5 = 4.375 Round up to 5 amp.
2.3"X6 Heater Head 120vac 2 350 Watt Heaters.Total Power of 700 Watts
(700) ÷ 120) = 5.83 X 1.5 = 8.750 Round up to 10 amp.
3.6"x8" Heater Head 120vac 3 350 Watt Heaters. Total Power of 1050 Watts
(1050) ÷ 120) = 8.75 X 1.5 = 12.125 Round up to 15 amp.
4.8"x8" Heater Head 120vac 3 350 Watt Heaters. Total Power of 1050 Watts
(1050) ÷ 120) = 8.75 X 1.5 = 12.125 Round up to 15 amp.
5.6"x12" Heater Head 220vac 4 500 Watt Heaters. Total Power of 2000 Watts
(2000) ÷ 220) = 9.09 X 1.5 = 13.63 Round up to 15 amp.
6.10"x15" Heater Head 220vac 4 1000 Watt Heaters. Total Power of 4000 Watts
(4000) ÷ 220) = 18.18 X 1.5 = 27.27 Round up to 30 amp.
7.12"x18" Heater Head 220vac 4 1500 Watt Heaters. Total Power of 6000 Watts
(6000) ÷ 220) = 27.27 X 1.5 = 40.9 Round up to 50 amp.
8.12"x24" Heater Head 220vac 6 1500 Watt Heaters. Total Power of 9000 Watts
(9000) ÷ 220) = 40.9 X 1.5 = 61.36 Round up to 60 amp.
